ISN Corporation is seeking qualified Independent Contractors to provide Background Investigation Fieldwork services in a large national background investigations (BI) program that provides investigative products and services to departments and agencies of the federal government.
We are excited about developing long-term independent contractor relationships with qualified professional independent contractors. Independent contractors will be offered contracts with ISN to complete mission-critical investigative tasks that enable the U.S. government to ensure national security.
We are seeking independent contractors with experience working directly on the OPM BI program without a break in service. We are also seeking those who have training that meets the National Training Standards and have experience conducting Federal Background Investigations for other agencies (e.g., IC, ICE & CBP, other agencies).
Qualified Independent Contractors must be eligible to receive the required security clearance, commit to orientation, and work independently controlling their own work schedule in coordination with ISN. Due to the nature of the work, U.S. Citizenship is required by regulations and contract with the government.
Why Work With ISN
ISN is large enough to provide proactive vendor communication and timely invoice payments but small enough to provide the support needed to handle the most complex of cases. Our partnership model gives you the support you need from people that truly understand the mission. We setup ISN contractors for success, including:
- Fresh cases, batched for your geographical area
- On demand support from investigative professionals
- Rapid payment
- Competitive rates
- Non-OPM work options in other verticals
ISN understands the day in the life of a contract investigator.
Working as an Independent Contractor with ISN
As an Independent Contractor providing Background Investigation services to ISN, you will be in charge of your own business conducting and completing fieldwork that supports suitability determinations for positions requiring access to sensitive or classified material. Qualified ICs will possess insurance (liability and motor vehicle), valid driver’s license, and all relevant documentation associated with your business.
Independent Contractors will have the option of selecting tasks and case work based on their location and availability to conduct reports of investigations in your local area or ability to travel. ICs that offer flexibility for time and travel can expect the ability to complete greater volumes of work. ISN compensates our ICs based on the timely completion of assigned items.
You will work your own schedule and perform fieldwork services to include interviews, record searches, information analysis, and the development of Reports of Investigations.
Independent Contractors:
- Are able to accept or reject assignments
- Will receive a 1099 and file their own business taxes
- Will be compensated on a project basis
Independent Investigators generally work from their own home office and in the investigation territories selected. Projects are generally within 100 mile radius of the investigators home area, but TDY assignments will be made available, as needed.
